Railway Signalling Design Manager - York - £40,000 - £59,999
This role is being advertised on behalf market leader consultancy in the rail sector. The candidate will be expected to lead the design office to deliver jobs, adhere to budgets, manage the team and finally direct the specification of design from inception to completion.
The candidate will be expected to undertake design checks, keep up to date with technologies and adopt a "right first time" culture amongst the team. Further to this, the candidate will be expected to create and maintain lines of support and assessment for colleagues as well as setting performance targets for the production of work. The candidate will be expected to make sure maximum design output is achieved from the team and set targets are met if not excelled. The candidate will need to create and maintain clear lines of management to keep communication and project reporting moving. Along with this carry out regular performance reviews for staff through appraisal process. Finally, regular checks of design standards will need to be reviewed to make sure specifications and standards are being met.
The candidate must be a member of IRSE and hold a principle design licence (1.1.150D or 1.1.150E) and signalling design (1.1.145). The candidate must also have at least 6 years experience within designing signalling layouts, CBI interfaces and a broad rail knowledge. HNC/HND would be a bonus however relevant experience will be accepted.
